Topography

Geotechnology offers comprehensive topographic survey services and several monitoring regimes require repeated surveys to monitor volume or elevation changes.  Topographic surveys are undertaken using the latest dGPS and total station survey technology to produce digital terrain models which can be used to show site changes with time.  A completed landfill for example will settle as time passes and repeated surveys show the progress of the settlement.

In quarrying applications, repeat surveys quantify reserve volumes, either within stockpiles or in the ground.  Similarly, landfill void monitoring is used to quantify remaining and used void and also to establish waste densities.  Geotechnology has significant experience in each of these topographic monitoring applications.
