Geotechnology is able to undertake landfill gas monitoring as part of routine site monitoring programmes. Using MCERTS certified instruments Geotechnology is able to measure gas flow rate, the real time concentration of several gases and atmospheric pressure. Such monitoring may be undertaken on operational, closed, surrendered or illegal landfills, either as part of a Permit requirement or to assess potential risks to the environment and human health.
In some instances, such conventional landfill gas monitoring may need to be supplemented by more detailed surveys that utilise FID instrumentation and flux boxes. In combination, these techniques can be used to determine the status of temporary and permanent capping systems and assist with the detection of defects.
