Geotechnology staff have significant rock and soil slope analysis expertise, from initial investigations through to final design. Our staff have worldwide experience in acquiring discontinuity datasets, including data acquired by rope access. Kinematic analysis is carried-out using industry leading software allowing statistical analysis of orientated data. Numerical analysis of suspect planes and intersections can be carried-out, leading to a design for rock excavation and rock stabilisation.
Soil slopes are conventionally analysed using 2-D limit equilibrium computer models and these are acceptable for a wide range of common slope problems. As well as having highly developed expertise in the use of these models, Geotechnology is also able carry out more sophisticated finite element analysis of those slopes that are not appropriately simulated using limit-equilibrium methods.
