Pollution

Pollution may arise from a wide range of sources such as abandoned mine workings, contaminated land and industrial complexes. Predicting the pollutants likely to be present and understanding their behaviour so that management solutions can be planned or found requires in-depth knowledge and practical experience of working with water, land and air.

Geotechnology is able to provide clients with a wealth of technical and practical expertise covering a wide range of pollutants in different settings. Finding solutions will often require a combination of intrusive sampling and monitoring backed up by sound data evaluation and computer modelling.  A key element in deriving the final solution is cost-benefit appraisal to ensure that resources are efficiently allocated while ensuring compliance with prevailing regulatory requirements.
