The susceptibility of land to flooding is a material consideration in determining planning applications. Using a combination of desk based studies, computer modelling and detailed topographic surveys Geotechnology is able to evaluate the implications of flooding for site development.
In accordance with current guidance, the assessment process evaluates the risks to site development and other developments elsewhere within the catchment under flood events over several return periods. Based on the findings of the assessment Geotechnology is able to work with clients to determine measures needed to manage flood risks and enable development to the satisfaction of the local planning authority.
